Miller, Rev. Cloyce Truett (b15)

Funeral services for Rev. Cloyce Miller, 81, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, April 23, 2007, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Burial will follow in White Rose Cemetery.

Cloyce passed away April 19, 2007, in Wills Point.

Cloyce Truett Miller was born April 8, 1926, in the Board Elwood Community, the only child of the late J.W. and Iva Mae Hay Miller. He grew up and attended school at Board Elwood. He was ordained as a Baptist minister on December 24, 1950, and served in many churches: Elwood Baptist in Wills Point, East Center Baptist in Terrell, Calvary Baptist in Mesquite, Corinth Baptist in Grand Saline, and New Hope Baptist in Mineola, Tundra Baptist and others. Cloyce also worked at Terrell State Hospital, Wills Point Housing Authority, Mesquite ISD, and LyBrand Funeral Home. Cloyce was a carpenter and worked for many of the residents of Wills Point and the surrounding areas. He was well known as a minister and a handyman. On November 26, 1968, Cloyce was married to Polly Boston and she preceded him in death in 2004.

Cloyce is survived by his step-son, Randy Boston (Class of '65) and wife, Linda of Gunnison, CO; step-daughter, Kathy Boston Gable (Class of '68) of Frisco; sisters-in-law, Joyce Lovell Farthing of Wills Point, Georgetta Lovell of Wills Point, and Gladys Lovell of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Melissa Boston Jacobs and husband, Stehpen of Abilene, Michelle Boston Love and husband, Tucker of Rockwall, Andy Boston of Gunnison, CO, Ryan Gable of Dallas, and Leigh Gable of McKinney; and great-granddaughter Aubrey Kate Love of Rockwall.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday evening.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Board Elwood Baptist Church.
