Services for Hazel Lee Howe, 85, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point. Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.
Hazel Lee Clair was born December 16, 1921, in Wills Point, to the late Frank Harrison and Maude Barrett and was a life long resident. She married Truman Welch and together they raised four children. He preceded her in death, January 13, 1972. She later met Billy Gene Howe in Wills Point and they married June 25, 1966. Hazel worked as a nurse at Baker Clinic and retired in 1976.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Bill Howe of Wills Point; sons, Truman Welch and wife, Carol of Terrell, and D.D. “Bud” Welch and wife, Gay of Longview; daughters, Dianne Thomas of San Antonio, and Linda Welch Girdley and husband, Butch of Wills Point; sisters, Christine Rogers of Canton, Norma Clair of Wills Point, and Frankie Wilson of Houston; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
