Funeral services for Dorothy Ezell Matthews, 89, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.

She passed away Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2007, at East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville, Texas.

Dorothy was born May 16, 1918, in Wills Point, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Scott. She was raised in Wills Point and was Valedictorian of her Senior Class. She was married to Aubrey Ezell and he passed away on October 19, 1972. She later married John Matthews who also preceded her in death. Dorothy was the first woman to serve on a jury in Van Zandt County. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Wills Point.

Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Aubrey Ezell and John Matthews; daughter, Mary Lynn Burleson on March 3, 2001; granddaughter, Sonya Lynn Burleson in 1990 and a brother, Frank Travis Scott in September 12, 1987.

Dorothy is survived by one granddaughter, Vicki Lovvorn & husband, Kyle, of Wills Point; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Propri, of Wills Point, Cassandra Bateman, of Wills Point and Justin Tyler Lester, of Clarksville; three nephews, Russell Edward Scott, of Austin, Ralph Travis Scott, of Itasca and John Roper Scott, of San Diego, CA; one niece, Cassandra Leigh Strickland, of Fredericksburg.
