Funeral services for Lucille Tarver Miles, 74, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point with Rev. Don Myers and Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.

She passed away early Saturday morning, September 6, 2008, in Wills Point.

Lucille was born December 20, 1933, in Wills Point, Texas, the daughter of John Gordon Tarver and Nona Teague Tarver. She lived most of her life in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1951. On August 31, 1951, she married William H. "Bill" Miles and to this union three children were born. During her working years, she worked as a nurse at Baker Clinic for five years. She left this position to raise her children. Another favorite position held was her employment at F.M. Hollandsworth Consulting Engineers for fourteen years. Lucille was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Wills Point where she was an active member of the Esther Ruth Sunday School Class. She enjoyed the position of Sunshine Card Chairman of her class for many years, along with the fellowship of her many friends in Adult 5 Department. Lucille spent forty some odd years as a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 187 and was a past Noble Grand. She was a devoted and fun grandmother who loved spending time with them as children as well as adults. Lucille's favorite hobby was working in her yard and baking bread to take to family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Miles Dillard; grandson, Jason Miles; great-grandson, Nathan Fincher; sister, Leona Tarver Copeland, two brothers, Grady J. Tarver and J.T. Tarver and the father of her children, Bill Miles.

Lucille is survived by two sons, William Michael Miles, of Wills Point and William Blake Miles & wife, Breanne, of Canton; daughter, Denise Deen & husband, Ted Deen, Jr., of Wills Point; brother, Gordon Russell "Bud" Tarver, of Dallas; three grandchildren, Jennifer Fincher, Jeffrey Deen and Jack Deen and several nieces and nephews.
