Funeral services for Pearl V. Rusk, 93, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Pearl passed away June 4, 2009 in Wills Point.
Pearl Venita Rusk was born September 7, 1915 to the late William Andrew and Maude Olivia (Hyman) Stroud. As a lifelong resident of the Wills Point area, Pearl attended school at Enterprise and then graduated from Wills Point High School. On December 25, 1933 in Wills Point, Pearl became the wife of William Carl Rusk. They made their home in Wills Point, where Carl had a welding and auto repair shop. Along with being a homemaker, Pearl kept the books for Carl’s business. She also was a seamstress at Malouf Sewing Factory. Pearl was a very active person and loved fishing, crafts, and gardening. With her green thumb, her garden kept the whole family in vegetables. She was a member of Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
She is survived by son, Bill Rusk and wife, Ida, of Richardson; daughters, Carolyn Hogan and husband, Clarence, of Wills Point, and Linda Rusk Lovell of Wills Point; brother, Billy Stroud of Wills Point; grandchildren Todd Rusk, Greg Rusk, Julie Brown, Rusty Hogan, Carl Hogan, and David Johnson; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday evening at the funeral home.
