Graveside services for Douglas Duane Woolverton, 73, of Edgewood, are scheduled
for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Union Grove Cemetery north of
Wills Point with Rev. Matt Ward officiating. Services are under the direction
of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, in Edgewood.
Douglas was born September 11, 1937, in Canton, Texas, the son of William Franklin
Woolverton and Iva Lorean Minyard Woolverton. He was raised in the Board-Elwood
Communities. He was married to Peggy Hargrove for fifteen years and later was
married to Velvet Rohus for several years. Doug had been employed by Queen City
Chevrolet in Wills Point as a service manager for fourteen years. He enjoyed
fishing, pitching horseshoes, watching westerns and reading, especially his
Bible. Doug had lived in Wills Point, Edgewood and Canton. He was of the Baptist
Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doyle Woolverton.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Suzette Pruitt & husband, James, of Bogata;
two step-daughters, Johnice Land, of Snyder and Tonya Worley, of Wills Point;
brother, Darvin Woolverton & wife, Jan, of Wills Point; sister, Willene Roberts
& husband, Richard, of Wills Point; two grandchildren, Brandy Floyd and Joseph
Rushing and four great-grandchildren, Kylie Floyd, Makayla Floyd, Austyn Floyd
and Payton Reese Rushing
