Funeral services for Roy DeWitt Deen, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point with Ted Deen, Jr. and Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

He passed away Sunday morning, December 14, 2014, in Wills Point at the age of 102.

DeWitt was born November 24, 1912 on the Liston Farm south of Wills Point to John Egbert Deen and Duron Turner Deen. After graduating from Wills Point High School in 1931, he began his lifelong career of farming and ranching. On April 11, 1941, he married Mary Sue Hall of Canton. DeWitt served on the boards of the Van Zandt County Farm Bureau, Van Zandt County Appraisal District and for twenty-five years served Kaufman Van Zandt Rockwall Soil & Water Conservation District. He belonged to the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association for many years.

DeWitt was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point for more than ninety years. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Sue Hall Deen; sister, Thelma Lee Deen Hanson; brother, Jack Egbert Deen and grandson, Trevor Dan Deen. DeWitt is survived by four sons, David DeWitt Deen, of Wills Point, Roy Dan Deen & wife, Kelly, of Wills Point, Thomas Lee "Tommy" Deen & wife, Jeanne, of Wills Point and Eddie Felix Deen & wife, Allison, of Rockwall; two daughters, Sarah Sue "Susie" Hagler, of Wills Point and Donna Dee Gunter & husband, Sammy, of Wills Point; two brothers, William Clyde "Billy" Deen, of Canton and Teddy Joe "Ted" Deen, Sr., of Wills Point; sister-in-law, Nancy Deen, of Wills Point; twelve grandchildren, Kim, Krisann, Sammi, Dustin, Chad, Brent, Raleigh, Jana, Clay, Abigail, Eli and Edison; three step grandchildren, Sidney, Dan and Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Dustin Deen, Chad Deen, Brent Deen, Clay Deen, Tyler Wicks, Tom Wicks, Rob Hogan, Eli Deen and Edison Deen Honorary Pallbearers: Kim Wicks, Krisann Stegall, Sammi Dee Gunter, Jana Deen, Raleigh Deen, Abigail Deen, Brandi Voight and Jordyn Wicks. Memorials may be made to the church of your choice, Meals on Wheels, East Texas Food Bank or R.M.U.M.C. Community Angel Tree Fund. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00 8:00 p.m.
