Funeral services for Charles “Chuck” Edward Allen, Jr., 68, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at New Release Fellowship in Wills Point with Pastor Wade Garrett and Charles “Chuck” Allen, III officiating. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

He passed away Monday afternoon, January 9, 2017, in Wills Point.

Charles “Chuck” Edward Allen, Jr. was born April 6, 1948, to Charles “Charlie” Edward Allen, Sr. and Vera Nell Gibson Allen. He was born and raised in Wills Point, and resided there till the time of his death. Chuck attended Wills Point ISD and graduated in 1966. He joined the United States Navy and was stationed at Miramar in California. Chuck met the love of his life in San Diego and married Joan Gale Foster on December 13, 1969. He joined the Garland Fire Department in 1978 and retired in June of 2002. Chuck was a Driver/Paramedic at the time of his retirement. He spent many years protecting and serving the citizens of Wills Point at the Volunteer Fire Department. Chuck was also an EMT/Paramedic Instructor for Trinity Valley Community College in Kaufman prior to his stroke in 2003. He worked for many local places as he grew up and most notably Frank Hollingsworth Engineering and Free State Contracting in Wills Point. Chuck was a current member of New Release Fellowship in Wills Point and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports, working crossword puzzles and watching the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Allen and Nell Allen and numerous aunts and uncles.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Allen, of Wills Point; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Edward Allen, III & wife, Shea Anne Schreffler Allen, of Wills Point and John Thomas Allen & wife, Kelli Deanne Bush Allen, of Wills Point; daughter, Amanda Elaine Allen Hayes & husband, Mark, of Wills Point; brother, Michal Lynn Allen & wife, Berta Allen, of Fate; four grandsons, Collin Allen Hayes, Joshua Aubrey Schreffler, Nathan Cole Thomas, Demontre Hill, all of Wills Point; two granddaughters, Aida Allen & husband, Brian, of Canton and Vicktoria Tabeleva, of Wills Point; great-grandsons, Michial Allen, of Canton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Chuck was also a grandfather to a host of foreign exchange students.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice out of Tyler in Chuck’s name.
